Sport for Sport's Sake
21 June - 6 September 2008

This series of portraits by photographer Paul Floyd Blake captures amateur sports people of all ages. From show jumping to fell running via football and lacrosse, a vast range of enthusiasms are on display.
The images ask questions about who plays sport and why. They reflect the social need to belong within a structure with clear rules, regulations and modes of dress. Whatever your level of sporting participation, you will find something to identify with here.
August 2008 will witness some exceptional sporting achievement as the Olympic Games take place in Beijing. Paul Floyd Blake is recording some British hopefuls aiming to be at the London 2012 games. A selection of these portraits of young sporting potential is on show here for the first time.
