Well Fit
13 March – 3 April 2004

During the summer of 2003 pupils from Kaskenmoor, Marland Fold and Counthill secondary schools in Oldham worked with artists Ann Gilligan and Karen Allerton to explore issues related to health.
They considered a range of factors that can affect physical and mental well being such as diet, exercise, smoking and stress, as well as attitudes to health centres.
After taking advice from health care workers, they created a range of original artworks in response to the ideas raised. They then worked with a graphic designer to explore ideas and methods of incorporating these artworks into posters to be used to promote a positive image of health care services in Oldham.
The Well Fit exhibition is an opportunity to see the vibrant work produced during the project.
This project is funded by Oldham NHS Primary Care Trust.
