Tom Bendhem: Collector
28 May – 3 September 2005
This exhibition features works from the extensive collection of one man, Tom Bendhem. From the 1970s until his death in 2002, Tom Bendhem avidly collected contemporary art, which he displayed in his home, and generously supported and encouraged many artists.
He left his collection to the Contemporary Art Society, and it is now touring venues around the country.
The exhibition features work by over 40 artists including Bridget Riley, Frank Auerbach, Bruce McLean and Andy Goldsworthy, and Tom Bendhem himself. The wide range of media on show spans drawing, painting, sculpture, glass, mosaic, photography and prints.
Tom Bendhem: Collector is a Contemporary Art Society touring exhibition.
