The British
31 January – 6 March 2004

In this photography show Nick Danziger intimately explores the diversity of modern Britain. His photographs feature people from across Britain’s social spectrum and present a revealing portrait of the country.
The British is at times both humorous and poignant. The exhibition includes images of some of the most powerful members of the establishment - an Army Commander in Chief, the Prime Minister, a bishop, a landowner, the Master of a Cambridge College and the editor of the Times – through to some of the least powerful - the unemployed and homeless.
Nick Danziger is a photographer, artist, writer and filmmaker. He has exhibited work both in the UK and abroad, had four books published and made a number of TV documentary films and series, in particular working for Channel 4, the BBC and the Discovery Channel. His book The British will be available for sale at Gallery Oldham during the exhibition.
