The Saddleworth Group of Artists was established in 1950 and has held regular exhibitions in Uppermill for many years.

The group has attracted the support of well-known artists over the years including L.S. Lowry and James Fitton and includes both professional and amateur artists among its ranks.

The current exhibition showcases new works by the 52 members of the group. much of this work will be on sale.

Phil Woolas MP will officially open the exhibition at a free launch event on Saturday 20 january, 1.30pm.

Three members of the Saddleworth Group of Artists - John McCombs, Janis Bowie and Sheila Dewsbury - are running art courses at Gallery Oldham while the exhibition is on show. See the Gallery Events page for more details.
