Oldham Voices
25 September - 27 November 2004

Oldham Voices focuses on the thoughts, memories and hopes of people across Oldham. This major project has been created by participants from the area who have been working with leading oral history recorder Ken Howarth and photographer Ian Beesley.
Using photography, interviewing skills and sound recording techniques, participants explored the lives and aspirations of people throughout Oldham.
This exhibition features photography by project participants and Ian Beesley, recorded interviews, and a range of other objects relating to the lives of local people.
The work produced during the Oldham Voices project will be held in Gallery Oldham’s collections as an historical resource for future generations. This project is supported by Oldham Race Equality Partnership.
