Made in Oldham celebrates the creative spirit of Oldham and its people.

From the products manufactured by local firms, to the actors and artists who grew up in the area, oldham has given a great deal to the world. Did you know that Tommyfield Market is thought to be the first place in the world where you could buy fish and chips?

Products by noted firms such as the Platt Brothers, Ferranti, and Bradbury and Co. are on display. Oldham artists have made their mark and the show includes paintings by William Stott, George Wimpenny, Helen Bradley, James Purdy and many others.

A host of creative Oldhamers, from Sir William Walton to Mark Owen, feature in our look at the town's most creative sons and daughters.

We'll be asking you - what is Oldham's greatest contribution to the world?
