Grade II listed Telephone Box, Saddleworth

Images of England is a project run by the National Monuments Record, the public archive of English Heritage. The project aims to produce photographs of all 370,000 listed buildings in England.

These images, alongside descriptions written by historic building experts, are forming an online database.

This exhibition at Gallery Oldham features photographs of the huge variety of listed buildings in the Oldham area, taken for the project by local volunteers. Each of these is shown along with historical and architectural information.

At the exhibition you can also find out more about listed buildings in general and about this fascinating project that is creating a lasting and invaluable resource. The Images of England database is available to view in the exhibition and is online at www.imagesofengland.org.uk.

Images of England is funded by English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
