Defining Spaces: Sally Freshwater
25 June – 3 September 2005

Sally Freshwater is a textile artist with a difference. Her large works combine textiles and metals, and many take the form of kite or sail-like constructions. A number of the stunning artworks on show include movement, animating the gallery.
Much of her work is designed to enhance architectural spaces, and the exhibition explores the ways in which she has worked with specific sites such as the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport and the area around Bury St Edmunds Cathedral.
Defining Spaces is Sally Freshwater’s first major solo show, and is organised by the University of Hertfordshire Galleries and the Hub Centre for Craft, Design and Making.
