Conceptual Craft: New Art from Norway
20 August – 12 November 2005

This is a fantastic opportunity to see highly original works by some of Norway’s leading contemporary designers and makers. The exhibition includes jewellery, silverwork, textiles, fashion, ceramics, furniture and glassmaking.
Though the work is strikingly modern, many of these artists are inspired by Norway’s rich craft traditions, such as medieval wall hangings and Viking silverwork, as well as by traditions from around the world.
Conceptual Craft: New Art from Norway is toured by the Usher Gallery in collaboration with the Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts.
A day of special events on 12 November marks the close of this stunning exhibition.
