The Bottom of the Sky
21 January – 22 April 2006

Ballycastle is situated on the coast of County Mayo, Ireland. Wherever you go to the east and west the sea dominates the land. There is a very powerful feeling of being on the edg, looking out on another world.
Paul Kenny and Jo Gorner have recently spent time working at the Ballinglen Foundation in Ballycastle. This exhibition presents work by both artists focusing on the relationship between the sea and land.
Jo Gorner is a printmaker who uses a variety of different techniques. Her delicate, abstract images reflect both the details and landscapes of the interaction between sea and land.
Paul Kenny uses a wide range of innovative photographic techniques to produce his exquisite black and white images, which focus on tiny elements in the relationship between land and sea.
You can find out more about the processes used by both artists to create their unique work in an interactive section of the exhibition.
