Anne Frank [+ you}
2 – 28 February 2006

Anne Frank [+ you} is about Anne Frank, her diary and the Holocaust. But it is not just about historical facts.
Anne poses many difficult questions in her diary that are just as relevant today as they were during World War II. The exhibition focuses on the themes of hate, war, freedom, caring and identity that are raised in the diary, and looks at them in a contemporary context.
These themes are explored through interviews and photographs focusing on today’s issues, including racism in football, the right to wear religious symbols, bullying, and the plight of child soldiers.
At the centre of the exhibition there is a life-sized replica of Anne Frank’s room in the Secret Annexe in Amsterdam, where the family were in hiding from the Nazis from 1942 to 1944. Anne Frank’s life story, the Holocaust and other more recent genocides are presented through photographs, artefacts, quotes and text.
This exhibition is toured by the Anne Frank Trust UK. More information about the trust can be found at www.annefrank.org.uk
