Our Chosen Women

12 September – 18 October

An exhibition selected by members of the Gallery’s Community Ambassador’s Panel. The display compliments Women of Oldham in the main gallery and features different views of women from the Gallery’s art collection.

“Yo Soy”

24 October – 29 November

Anna Sims, Education Officer at Gallery Oldham, has just returned from a year working in Ecuador as part of The Charlotte Miller Art Project, which provides art workshops to children living or working on the streets. This exhibition documents Anna’s visit and includes artwork developed during her time in Mexico. Also featured are works created during a linking project with The Grange School and portraits by photographer Shamil Tanna.

Oldham and Beyond

5 December – 10 January

Contemporary and nostalgic views of Oldham by Saddleworth based artist Sonia Ratcliff. The exhibition includes striking scenes of Oldham including paintings of bustling shoppers and Tommyfield Market.

100 years of Girlguiding

16 January – 28 February

The Girl Guide movement was founded in 1910 and is still going strong today. From Rainbows and Brownies up to the Trefoil Guild there are over 1500 members in the Oldham area alone. Visit this exhibition to learn more about their history and achievements. There will also be special events on February 22, the Guide’s “Thinking Day”.

Saved from Landfill

6 March – 4 April

Artist Tonie Rigby and the Emmaus Art Group have worked together to recycle everyday items and turn them into art.Over 1000 video cassettes have been used during this project and this exhibition shows a selection of 2D and 3D artworks created from them.
