Family friendly film club

Sundays: 1/28 November, 27 December, 31 January, 28 February, 28 March, 11am

A series of funny and engaging animations and short films. Check out the Gallery web-site or call reception for further details. Duration: 45 minutes. Suitable for under 7 years.

Holiday fun at Gallery Oldham

Free family activities take place during all school holidays. These are linked to our exhibitions, so please take a look around the relevant exhibition before you come along to an activity. There is face painting and additional craft activities at each session. Suitable for ages 4–10 years.

October half term

Halloween crafts / Mon 26 October, 1–4pm

Get crafty with witches, bats, ghosts, ghouls and spiders.

Creative collage / Tues 27 October, 1–4pm

Create a unique picture using paper, fabric, wools, buttons and found materials.

Plaster casting / Wed 28 October, 1–4pm

Make a plaster cast of small objects then glue them onto a picture board.

The Big Draw! / Sat 31 October, 1–4pm

An afternoon of creative Halloween activities for all the family.

Festive Fun

Christmas crafts / Sat 12 December, 1–4pm

Festive craft making workshop with face painting fun.

February half term

Oldham treasures / Mon 15 February, 1–4pm

Make your own art treasure to keep.

Easy watercolour / Tues 16 February, 1–4pm

Paint your picture on special paper and frame for your bedroom wall.

Paper weight bugs / Wed 17 February, 1–4pm

Paint a pebble with a creepy crawly.

Sessions are free and there’s no need to book, just drop in anytime. Children must be accompanied by an adult. If you are bringing a group of ten or more children, please book in advance. Further information and booking 0161 770 4653.

The Culture Club

An arts project for young people, age 11–16.

Saturdays: 3 October, 7 November, 5 December, 2 January, 6 February, 6 March, 3 Apr, 10.30am–12.30pm

A new and exciting programme of creative hands on workshops for young people with an interest in museums and galleries. Participants will have the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Arts Award qualification (Bronze level). Find out more at the information and enquiry event on Saturday 3 October.
