Events at Oldham Local Studies and Archives
Family history
Oldham Local Studies and Archives organises a variety of events to help with your family history. Family History Advisers are available every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 2pm. The University of the Third Age Genealogy Group meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 10am to explore family and local history, and there are a variety of courses and expert advice sessions held throughout the year.
Heritage Open Days
Oldham Local Studies and Archives is participating in the annual Heritage Open Days scheme, which run from 8–11 September celebrating the architecture and heritage of Oldham. Talks, walks and displays will be on offer throughout Oldham.
Oldham History Group
Oldham History Group meets once a month to encourage research into the history of Oldham.
Oldham Palaeography Group
This group meets once a month on Saturdays to transcribe wills and other documents relating to the early history of Oldham.
